Wes' new book "Cherry Blossoms" includes the town of Davidson in the storyline!


Wes Funk is a Saskatchewan-based writer who has dedicated his craft to telling stories which reflect his life. His first novel Dead Rock Stars was shortlisted for a Sask Book Award and his second novel Baggage has been a pick for several book clubs across Canada. Besides being an author, Wes is currently the host of the Saskatoon TV Program Lit' Happens. He lives with his partner and pets in Saskatoon.

Family Game Night


Turn off that video game, cell phone, smartphone, or computer and join us at the Library for "Unplug & Play" Family Game Night!

Drop in Wednesday evenings between 6:00 & 8:00 to play board games or card games. Everyone welcome -- 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult or teenager.

Some games will be provided; please feel free to bring your own or to donate new or good-condition games (must have all pieces and rules).

Participants are permitted to bring their own snacks, and drinks in closed containers (no cans).

Teen Summer Activities

Tuesday, July 19 @ 1:00 p.m. ~ Painting Window Murals at the Library (ages 12+)
Tuesday, August 9 @ 1:00 p.m. ~ Birdhouse Creations (ages 12+)

Pick up a Summer Reading Challenge sheet and complete tasks to be entered for prize draws. Prizes include an iPod Nano and a Kobo Ereader! There are tons of other great prizes as well. (ages 13+ only)

STC Youth Bus Pass Contest: Write a short 1-2 page story about a future adventure traveling on STC, and you could win a Youth Bus Pass to anywhere STC travels in Saskatchewan. Contest closes August 15, so get your entries in! Email entries to lambert.jessicalynn@gmail.com (ages 13-18 only)

Children's Summer Reading Club Activities

Weekly activities for kids up to age 12 will take place during the month of August -- Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. at the Library.

Borrow books, read, and play our game board all summer long. Prizes for every 5 books read (or for every 5 chapters for older readers).

Register and pick up an activity book, stickers and a poster.

Summer Reading Club -- need a student leader!


We are looking for an energetic and capable high school student, age 15 or over, to lead our Summer Reading Club for one afternoon a week for 4 weeks this summer -- dates are flexible. Theme and manual will be provided.
